Filing crypto taxes shouldn't mean hours of copy-pasting numbers into your tax software. Today we're announcing the widest tax software export coverage in the industry — 8 US platforms, 4 international formats, and 3 accounting integrations, all with one-click downloads.

The Problem: Your Tax Software Doesn't Speak Crypto

If you've ever tried to get your crypto gains into TurboTax, you know the pain. TurboTax removed CSV imports in January 2026, which broke the workflow many crypto holders relied on. H&R Block expects manual entry for most users. And FreeTaxUSA? Until now, finding a crypto tax tool that generates their specific format was nearly impossible.

We watched the Reddit threads pile up: "IT DOES NOT WORK!", "TurboTax says they don't support CSVs", "Where do I even upload this?" Every tax season, crypto holders waste hours fighting format mismatches.

What We Built

Every export format is purpose-built for its target software — correct column names, correct box codes, correct file type. No generic CSV that "sort of works."

International & Accounting

We also support HMRC (UK), ATO (Australia), CRA Schedule 3 (Canada), Anlage SO (Germany) — each with country-specific tax rules baked in. Plus QuickBooks, Xero, and Google Sheets for bookkeeping.

Why FreeTaxUSA Matters

FreeTaxUSA is the fastest-growing US tax platform with 5-8 million users. Federal filing is completely free. Yet zero crypto tax tools have built a dedicated FreeTaxUSA export — until now.

Our FreeTaxUSA export includes:

  • Correct 1099-B column format that FreeTaxUSA accepts
  • IRS box codes (I/L for 2025+ tax year, B/E for prior years)
  • Wash sale adjustment codes and amounts
  • Short-term vs. long-term classification

Why TaxSlayer Matters

TaxSlayer serves 3-5 million users and is an IRS Free File partner. It is an affordable option that many crypto holders use, so we wanted to make sure our export works perfectly with it. Our TaxSlayer CSV follows their documented 1099-B import schema with proper adjustment codes.

TurboTax: We Fixed the CSV Problem

Intuit removed CSV crypto imports from TurboTax Online in January 2026. If your crypto tax tool still generates a "TurboTax CSV," it won't work. We switched to PDF upload — a filled Form 8949 that TurboTax accepts in the investment income section. For TurboTax Desktop users, we still generate TXF files.

Every Export Includes

  • Wash sale detection — IRS Code §1091 adjustments applied automatically
  • Correct IRS box codes — Updated for 2025+ (1099-DA) or pre-2025 rules
  • All cost basis methods — FIFO, LIFO, HIFO, Specific ID (free on all tiers)
  • Multi-year batch downloads — Up to 5 years in a single ZIP
  • Export history — Re-download any previous export for audit defense

How to Export

  1. Go to Tax Reports in your dashboard
  2. Select your tax year
  3. Click the icon for your tax software
  4. Download and import into your software

That's it. No format guessing, no manual entry, no "Upload a Different Way" dead ends.

How many tax platforms do you support?

We support 8 US tax platforms with dedicated export formats: TurboTax (TXF and the new PDF format), FreeTaxUSA, TaxAct, TaxSlayer, H&R Block, plus generic Form 8949 CSV, Excel, and Google Sheets. We built dedicated formats for each platform so you do not have to worry about compatibility — just download and upload.

Is FreeTaxUSA really free?

Yes — FreeTaxUSA offers free federal filing including Schedule D and Form 8949. State returns are $14.99. It handles large transaction counts well, making it an excellent choice for active crypto traders on a budget.
